Lewis Parke is an indie alt pop artist with a bite, blending new wave influence with a modern indie sound.
The act lives in the deep, the mysterious... the unsaid words that lay in between a conversation. Lewis's songs are subtle yet bold and the hidden meaning is not always obvious.

Fresh off competing at the New Zealand National Battle of the Bands and winning title "Best Songwriter" Lewis is back and he's better then ever! Over the last year Lewis has released numerous songs and played across the country bringing an unforgettable live experience.
The story behind the collaboration of Lewis and Ralph originated out of a local music shop "Music Works’ in the heart of Christchurch. This is where the two met on one hot summer afternoon in early 2025 while Lewis was getting his guitar fixed by ‘Rusty’. They got talking and began to jam. Over time, they jammed more and began to bring some of Lewis’s songs into a more rhythm-heavy format. Lewis writes with a deep conviction striped from the soul which sets up for great songwriting. Live, the combination of Lewis's guitarwork and vocals with a live edge of intricate, experienced rhythm from Ralph's colourful past in drumming makes a intoxicative mix.
Ralph's most notable work was in legendary band 'The Opposition'. The pair often play a cover of 'I Dream In Colour' which is originally written by The Opposition and even went on to release a studio version of the song produced by the original producer & engineer from The Oppositon, Kenny Jones. Pro bass player Yves Altana was also invited into the project to lay the bass you hear sampled live and on the release. By the beginning of 2026, the stage was set for a great year ahead.
Lewis released his first single ‘Rain Check’ in early 2025, which was the first single to feature Ralph’s drumming. This was recorded on a digital drum kit and produced by Lewis and was the start of the percussion experimentation that begun on Lewis's songs. Prior to this, Lewis was sampling drums and releasing music under a different name ‘Newz’.
Mics, microphones and even different types of microphones. Months of experimentation upon experimentation to get the production to the current sound.
First the live duo hit Wunderbar in 2025, Lewis arranged a debut halloween gig titled ‘The Halloween Bash’ and gave away a guitar to the best dressed on the night. Lewis dressed as the killer from Scream and Ralph didn’t dress up at all which was quite surprising! The gig was a success and paved the way for the next show; a headline gig at underground venue ‘Darkroom’ in early 2026. The gig ended up completely sold out, which seemed like a strange anomaly for a starting act, beginners luck eh?
It was around this time that his next single ‘Maybe’ was released. This song was an awesome project recorded during the early summer months. It was accompanied by an incredible music video in which Lewis drove out into the New Zealand mountains during the mid winter. He filmed a video depicting a “strange gorilla” running amok through the beautiful New Zealand countryside.
Next the duo played local staple venue ’A Rolling Stone’ at another gig titled ’The Indie Takeover’. Lewis raved about the sound system and still claims it to be one of his all-time favourite venues to play as it has such an incredible live sound.
Following this, Lewis was busy mixing and mastering his next single ’SHIVER’. It released a month later and was actively rotated on Most FM, Plains FM and Radio Hauraki over the following months going on to reach a total audience of over 11,000 streams on Spotify.
Recently, they played in the South Island Battle of the Bands at ‘A Rolling Stone’ and ended up winning the South Island Heat alongside other talented local acts ‘Tam Duugi’ and ‘Paperwaves’. They went on to play in the National Final in Wellington winning title “Best Songwriter”.
In Lewis’s words “a good holiday, bad buisness endeavour”, as he came back deep in the red from the expenses of the whole trip. (oops)
A few weeks ago he played "his best show yet" at the legendary venue Space Academy. All filmed and recorded.
The next single 'Clockwork' is set to release on the 31st July, this is the best single yet, first from the album Analogue, watch out for it.
